Privacy Statement

Angus Management is strongly committed to your right to privacy. Should you have any questions about this privacy policy, or our practices as we operate this Web site, please contact us at privacy@angusmanagement.com.

Overview

Your information is yours. Any information that you chose to provide to us will be stored securely. We will not sell any of your information to anyone else.

Angus Management only collects personally identifiable information that you would knowingly and voluntarily provide for specific purposes of your choosing. For example, you may choose to provide personal information to order a publication or, in future, to register for certain areas of the site. When you provide such information to us, we undertake to use it solely for the purposes for which it is provided. Our policy is not to share personally identifiable information with third parties, unless required by law, or unless explicitly requested by you. We recognize that your personal information and your privacy in this regard is valuable and we take all reasonable measures to protect such information while it is in our care. While we use, or may in future use, small text files called cookies to improve your overall site experience, we do not collect or compile any personal information for use by or sale to outside parties.

Angus Management

The legal entity collecting the data described herein is Angus Consulting Inc., (“Angus”) a company incorporated under the British Columbia Companies Act, whose registered and corporate offices are located at 3639 Garibaldi Drive, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V7H 2W2. By submitting data on our Web site, you are providing explicit consent to trans-border transmission of the data for the fulfillment of your voluntary requests.

Data Collection

We would collect personally identifiable information only when it is knowingly and voluntarily provided by you in order to deal with a specific request you have made of us. Typically, Angus would receive only limited personally identifiable information, such as name, title, company address, email address, and telephone and fax numbers, from you. Such personally identifiable information could be collected to:

  • Allow you to request further information
  • Allow us to properly respond to your enquiries
  • Allow us to properly deliver information you requested
  • Allow you to register for certain areas of the Web site

Demographic information, including gender and occupation, is not actively sought, but may be submitted by your own choice. It is our policy to limit the information collected to only the minimum information required to complete your request. In any instance where non-mandatory information is sought, you will be notified of this at the point of collection.

Publications, if available on our Web site, would typically be provided as downloads. You may also be provided the opportunity to purchase publications either online, by calling toll free numbers, or by faxing an order form to us, or by calling or faxing our fulfillment providers. Where applicable, we will collect such order, delivery and credit card information as is necessary to facilitate order processing, delivery and any required payment for the publication and its shipping.

You are also able to contact us through the Web site. Your contact messages will contain the your screen name and email address, as well as any additional information you may wish to include in the message.

It is our intention to not seek any sensitive information through our Web site unless we are legally required to do so. Sensitive information would include data relating to race or ethnic origin; political opinions; religious or other similar beliefs; trade union membership; physical or mental health; sexual life or criminal record. We suggest that you do not provide sensitive information of this nature. If you do wish to provide sensitive information for any reason, we accept your explicit consent to use that information in the ways described in this privacy statement or as described at the time and place where you choose to disclose this information.

Use of Data

Our Web site may now or in future provide you the voluntary choice to:

  • Order publications
  • Participate in "mailing list" initiatives
  • Participate in bulletin boards, discussion or message forums
  • Contact us for further information
  • Enter surveys
  • Register for events

You may choose to provide us personal information for these and other uses.

Information collected by the site is used only for the intended purpose stated at the time that the information is collected. This data is not shared with any third parties, unless otherwise disclosed at the point of collection. If there is an instance where such information may be shared, you will be asked for permission beforehand.

We make every practical effort to avoid excessive or irrelevant collection of data. If you believe the site has collected excessive information, we encourage you to contact us at privacy@angusmanagement.com.

Except for the mailing list initiatives described above, where you would voluntarily choose to receive specific marketing or other materials, we will not use personal data collected from our Web site to facilitate unsolicited marketing activities.

Cookies and Log Files

Cookies may be used on some pages of our Web site. It is our policy to use cookies to make navigation of our Web site easier for visitors and to facilitate efficient registration procedures. "Cookies" are small text files placed on your hard drive that help us provide a more customized Web site experience. For example, a cookie can be used to store registration information in an area of the site so that a user does not need to re-enter it on subsequent visits to that area.

If you are concerned about cookies, most browsers permit individuals to decline cookies. In most cases, a visitor may refuse a cookie and still fully navigate our Web site.

In order to properly manage our Web site we may anonymously log information about visitors' use of our Web site on our operational systems, and to identify categories of visitors by items such as domains and browser types. These statistics are reported in aggregate to our webmasters. This is to ensure that our Web site presents the best web experience for visitors and is an effective information resource.

Third Parties

It is our policy only to disclose your information to third parties under the following circumstances:

  • When explicitly requested by you.
  • When required to deliver publications or reference materials you have requested.
  • When required to process your payment for an online purchase.
  • When required to facilitate events hosted by a third party.
  • As required by law through subpoena, search warrant or other legal process.

Other than where required by law, to the extent practical, it is our policy to disclose necessary information to third parties at the time of your original request (e.g. when ordering a publication, or when registering for an event). In any event, where a third party is to receive a visitor's personally identifiable information, the visitor will be advised at the time of the data collection.

To purchase some publications listed on our Web site, and as a convenience to accommodate visitor's with online purchasing services, they may be directed to online retailers such as Amazon.com. The only information passed to such online retailers would be the publication that has been selected. The visitor will then be required to register at the online retailers' Web site in order to purchase the publication. We recommend that you review such online retailers privacy statements to learn more about their specific practices.

Also, in the event of a violation of the terms and conditions of use of our Web site or a violation of any restrictions on the use of the content provided in or through our Web site, we may disclose personal user information to our affected business partners or legal authorities.

Our Web site does not collect or compile personally identifying information for dissemination or sale to outside parties for consumer marketing purposes, or to host mailings on behalf of third parties.

Third Party Links

Angus Management is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any third party web sites to which visitors may link from our Web site. We encourage visitors to review such third party sites' privacy statements before disclosing any personally identifiable information.

Data Retention

Your contact information (such as information generated though registration for access to areas on the site) will be kept as long as the information is required to properly service the contact request or until you request that we delete that information. Some of the information we receive will not be retained. Mailing list information and email are kept for only the period of time considered reasonable to facilitate your request.

Choices

You are not presently required to register to gain access to specific areas of our Web site. In certain cases in the future, as our Web site offerings expand, we may require you to register and to obtain a user-id and password. Such situations would arise where it is necessary to ensure authentication and secure access to certain of our business, confidential or proprietary information services.
It is voluntary that you would provide us personally identifiable information through our Web site. Should you subsequently choose to unsubscribe from mailing lists or any registrations, we will provide suitable instructions in the appropriate Web site area or in such communications to you; or you may contact our webmaster at webmaster@angusmanagement.com.

Access

You have the right of access to any personal data you have submitted through our Web site to Angus.

When personally identifiable information is retained, Angus assumes responsibility for keeping an accurate record of the information once you have submitted and verified the data. We do not assume responsibility for verifying its ongoing accuracy. If Angus is informed that any personal data collected through its Web site is no longer accurate, we will make appropriate corrections based on the updated information provided by the authenticated visitor.

Any updates to your information should be handled by going through the registration process that solicited the information in the first place. Inquiries about the accuracy of identifying information previously submitted, or requests to have outdated information removed, should be directed to: privacy@angusmanagement.com. Angus is committed to providing you reasonable and practical access to allow you the opportunity to identify and correct any inaccuracies. When requested and practical, Angus will delete any of your identifying information from its current operational systems.

Security

Angus has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. All Angus employees and contractors are fully apprised our Code of Conduct and this privacy policy. Only authorized personnel are provided access to personally identifiable information and they have agreed to ensure the confidentiality of this information. It is our policy to use secure socket layer encryption technology for the protection of credit card information submitted through web forms. This policy is also required for any fulfillment agents of our firm. Although we take steps that are generally accepted as industry standard to protect your personally identifiable information, Angus cannot guarantee that your personally identifiable information will not become accessible to unauthorized persons.

Children

Angus fully understands the importance of protecting children's privacy, especially in an online environment. The Web site covered by this privacy statement is not intentionally designed for or directed at children (i.e. any person who is not an adult) howsoever defined in the law of an applicable legal jurisdiction. It is our policy never to knowingly collect or maintain information on or about a person who is a child.

Modifications

Angus Management reserves the right to modify or amend this Privacy Statement at any time. The effective date will be displayed at the beginning of this statement. To keep visitors informed, Angus Management will notify users of changes to our Privacy Statement by prominently identifying the alteration for a period of not less than two weeks on our home page at www.angusmanagement.com.
